During the course of my trips, despite the solitude of driving eight hours a day and the isolation of many of our campsites, we meet many, many people. Some of them are encountered in the course of one of the many challenges we encounter, often daily, and are there to extend a hand to help us meet those challenges. Others are just part of the large group of friendly, good people who have nothing but polite comments to make about our journey or, more often than not, my dogs. To help me remember those people and to thank them for their comments or help, I decided post “Today’s Welcome” comments to them on my blog, hoping that they can read them, a practice I intend to keep after the trips end.
